Muhammed Ismail

Muhammed M. Ismail

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

A veracious entrepreneur dedicated to the idea of free and open Internet for all. Having pursued his education in the UK, first completing a Bsc (Hons) in Computer Science at Loughborough University (UK) in the year 2000, subsequently graduating with first class honours at aged 22, he was swiftly recruited to work with Anderson Consulting (now known as Accenture) in London while still in the second year of his undergraduate degree.
Having been exposed to a rigorous routine of hard work, technology and an unusually unique opportunity to work at the Financial Services Innovation Centre, Accenture’s Centre of Innovation in London, Muhammed found his true calling. Since then he has demonstrated a vigorous determination to be at the forefront of innovative technology. While sharpening his skills with Accenture, Muhammed decided to balance his experience in technology with a sound business education.

In 2003 Muhammed pursued an MBA in Finance at Nottingham Business School graduating in 2004, with an unrelenting desire to start his own business. Returning to Botswana in 2005, Muhammed began vigorously learning the business landscape to appreciate the business challenges at the time. With Internet penetration very low, and speeds even slower, Muhammed was determined to move forward and founded Weblogic in September 2007, and built it up to become one of the leaders in the Web Development space in Botswana. Arguably, Weblogic was instrumental in bringing low cost web solutions to Botswana, and contributed in a small way, to building an online community to Botswana.

In 2018, 11 years later, the business landscape in Botswana changed. With years of experience under his belt, and a desire to redefine the web development market in Botswana, Muhammed signed up for the Stanford Seed programme, and devised a new vision for Weblogic; one that will set the stage for Weblogic 2.0. Only time will tell whether Muhammed’s renewed zeal and ambition will bear fruit, but come what may, the Botswana web development market will forever be changed for the better.

Our People

Nonofo Thamage

Web Developer

I am a web developer but I consider myself as a "creative". I care deeply about creating world-class, useful, and beautiful products that help people and make a difference. I am as involved in your project as you need me to be; from the seed of the idea, to sketches, creative direction, design, back-end development to the front-end. I build websites that delight and inform and I do it well.

I’m curious, and I enjoy work that challenges me to learn something new and stretch in a different direction. I do my best to stay on top of changes in the state of the art so that I can meet challenges with tools well suited to the job at hand.

A slight clarification of the above: I’m actually a BSc Chemistry (UB) graduate cleverly disguised as a successful web developer. Since it was relatively clear early on that it would be slightly more than difficult to make a living trying to synthesize the next element on the Periodic table, I’ve focused my energies on the web, which happily has proven itself to be a wonderful decision.
